When I Cried
As I sit here in Your presence
I wonder do You hear me
As I gaze into Your awesome light
I see You are near me
And every moment that I spend without You
I realize I am lost
But You’re teaching me the way to live
And just how to love
CHORUS
And when I cried
You came and cried with me
And when I called Your name
That’s when You came
And now I know
That You’re my Daddy in heaven
When I forget all about You
You still remember me
You’re a friend forever till the end
You’re closer than a brother
You’re brighter than the sun
Greater than anything
You are the Great I AM
And You sent Your Son to die for me
So that I could live forever

Scripture Reference: Exodus 3:14; John 3:16; Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6
At 12 years of age, realizing that my earthly father was imperfect, I really began to understand that my Abba Father (translated Daddy) was the Father that would never fail me. I sought God during my childhood and teen-years. He heard my cries. While in my early 20’s, God reminded me of this song I wrote to Him: I knew that without Him I truly was lost. Cry out to Him. He will hear you. He will come.
