Hoping In You

In this matter Lord, I brought my request
To You in prayer
And though the answer seems to be, “not yet”
Still I’m hoping, still I’m trusting

CHORUS
You are the Hope, I am holding on to
I am trusting, I am hoping in You

The prayers of the righteous availeth much
That’s a promise I’m holding on to
Whatever I ask in Your name, I’ll receive,
if I believe
That’s a promise I’m holding on to

BRIDGE
Not my will be done, but Yours Jesus
This is my most urgent request
Yet I know that, You know best

Scripture that inspired this song: John 14:13; James 5:16
I sat at my piano praying for healing for my dear friend, Brigitte, in Texas. Although God’s answer seems to be, “not yet”, I have seen and experienced many, seemingly small, miracles. I prayed as I played and this became a song that reminds us that our Hope is Jesus. We don’t understand all of life’s trials, but if we trust in our Lord, we can know that His Will will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. It can seem difficult to do, but He’s our only hope. Hold onto Him for your requests, and trust that He is all knowing and He works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
